BOOKKEEPER/ADMINISTRATOR

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative tasks of the ministry, including answering phone and email inquiries, maintaining electronic and hard copies of files and their systems, creating meeting agendas and taking minutes, basic bookkeeping functions including accounts receivable and accounts payable, monthly reconciliations, preparing financial and operational reports, and maintaining data relating to participant programs and resources.

STATUS:                                    

Permanent Full-Time, 40 Hours/week

LOCATION:                               

407 Chalmers Ave

RENUMERATION:                   

Salary Range of $40k to $50k per year based on experience and qualifications.

Eligible for extended health care benefits.

2 Weeks vacation per year.

QUALIFICATIONS:   

Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Persons Check.

Knowledge of addictions and the barriers faced by vulnerable populations.

Supports the Vision, Mission, and Statement of Faith of Forward House.

Proficient in English language skills, both written and verbal.

Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Office 365, and social media platforms.

Experience in QuickBooks, minimum 2 years.

Typing speed of at least 40 WPM.

Experience with data entry.

Experience with creating meeting agendas and taking minutes.

Willingness to learn and grow in their role and skills.

PRIORITIES:                          

Updating files and systems, basic bookkeeping, outreach, preparing internal and external reports and communications.

SECONDARY:   

Creating and gathering information for participant files upon entry to and exit from the program, general office duties, and other duties as assigned by the executive director.
